the phone vibrated
the number is familiar
i answered.
that familiar and vibrant voice,
that never failed to make me laugh.
the moment the first word was spoken,
i detected the disappointment, the sadness.
he had to rush home, from camp.
said had a little trouble, so i asked what happened
and if he's okay, due to the unusual tone.
"grandma just passed away" was what he replied.
silence. i prayed in silent, while waiting for him to reply.
i hope you're okay, sorry to hear the bad news.
